SIERRA OF ALBARRACÍN

Welcome to Bezas page. This is an introduction for all those that you want to know the location of the village in the context unique of the "Sierra of Albarracín and The protected places of the Rodeno".

This southwestern region with a matchless setting, bordering on Cuenca and Guadalajara provinces, comprises 23 villages located in spectacular enclaves and provides plenty of options for trekking (GR 10) and visiting cave paintings in Albarracín, BEZAS, Tormón and Rubiales shelters. Situated on the lower gorge of the River Guadalaviar, Albarracín forms a beautiful monumental set which evokes its magnificient Moslem past -Majestic walls impeccably restored, steep narrow streets and harmoniuos architecture ooze local colour evirywhere.

After seeing the Museum, the Cathedral, the Cultural Park and the Palacio de Exposiciones y Congresos (Episcopal Palace), you may go deep into the immediate sierra, filled with exuberant pinewoods abounding in wild animals, and reach the wonderful spots of Noguera, Bronchales or Orihuela del Tremedal. Further south, in the Universal Mountains, you can find the Cascade of Calomarde, Frías de Albarracín and the source of the River Tajo. Finally you may arrive in Guadalaviar and savour the delicious deer and boar products.
